Workshop On Constitutional Law and Justice

Ministry of Justice in collaboration with Ministry of Parliamentary Cordination and Constitutional Affairs jointly organized two days workshop on constitutional law and justice.

The two day event which was held in Mansoor hotel focused on how best to implement Somaliland Constitution more effeciently as well as compare Somaliland Constitution with other Constitutions around the World. The event was facilitate by Dr. Amal Cali, a well renowned expert in the Field.

The workshop was attended by Government officials, legal professionals, academicians, CSOs, university students among others.

Opening the Workshop, the Minister of MOPCA Hon.Mohamed Adan Elmi talked about the importance of the event. " I urge all participant to take full advantage of the experts with us here today" said the Minister.

"Our Constitution is, among the best constitutions out there according to expert views" added the minister.

For his part, the Director general of the Ministry of Justice Hon. Abdirahman Shiekh talked about the history of Somaliland constitution.

"Creating the Somaliand Constitution was a process that started in 1991. Creating a Constitution that is in line with international standards and protects basic rights. Somalilanders succeeded to vote for a constitution in 2001 after long struggle and debate." said the Director General

Speaking in the Event, The facilitator Dr. Amal Cali spoke in-depth about justice in the constitution.
